When I began this class, Professor Kather stated, that in terms of taking a
great picture, it was like the phrase, “you may have to milk a thousand cows to get
one glass of milk.” I took away from that comment that I would have to take a lot of
bad pictures before I got one that was good. At the end of this class I feel as though,
with these photographs, I may have just gotten my “one glass of milk. “
Unfortunately, my children were unwilling objects of my photography, so the family
dog Tuck ended up being my focus. And while I certainly couldn’t get him to sit for a
pose, the shots I successfully captured represent what I like about photography; a
representation of a moment, that is real, authentic and not forced.
